This is a good upgrade from previous iMacs. Its really fast, and efficient. As usual only downside is storage capacity so make sure if you have heavy files, like games, to get an external hard drive.

I bought this 2024 24″ M4 to replace a 2017 intel-based iMac that, frankly, was a dog. It never seemed “right.” I’ve been a Mac user since 1986 and the intel-based Mac was the worst performer I’ve had. This M4 iMac blows the doors off the old machine. It’s pretty awesome. It’s fast, responsive and nimble. (Sounds like I’m describing a car). To be fair, the 2017 model was underpowered with only 8 GB of RAM. I bumped this one to 16 GB of RAM and it shows. I’m a little concerned about the lack of storage (512 GB SSD) but I’ve off-loaded my pictures and a lot of other stuff to iCloud and I back-up religiously to a 2TB external drive. Going forward I’m going to be more vigilant about clearing the junk off this machine, too.
Mac’s are not cheap but I’ve never had one die. I bet if I plugged in my old SE 20 from ’86 it would boot up. That’s value.
I’m brand loyal, so if I get a product that performs above my expectations, I’m in. Some people don’t want to be tied to Apple’s ecosystem and I get that but I’m willing to put up with some minor annoyances to get products (desktops, laptops, phones, tablets, etc.) that function up to, and beyond, my expectations. If you know, you know.
Not sure yet if this is a great machine but so far, it’s checking all the right boxes.

I loved my old iMac which had an elegant 27″ screen. That suddenly got extremely slow after Christmas. I bought the new iMac with 24″ screen. It is much lighter but is not that elegant looking. There is no Apple icon in front.
It was easy to set up. There are some new things it comes with, I am still getting used to all the automatic messages which appear on the screen. With the new iMac, the old printer did not work, I had to buy a new printer too. Hopefully, I am set up for the next 10 years.

I dabbled in the Dark Side and tried a Windows for a year. Came back to Apple and will never leave. The iMac is more intuitive and faster than its counterpart.

Having recently transferred all the way to Apple products I have been blown away by how intuitive the devices were. This IMAC is almost like a piece of Alien technology to me. I generally just use my computer for everyday things and so have not much need of a 10 Core 10 CPU powerhouse.
I wanted something that would let me navigate the coming AI wave and grow with me for a few years. This is truly and amazing piece of hardware. It has taken me a while to get everything set up and connected (Accounts/Passwords), but it is truly beautiful to behold and amazing to operate.
